Finding A Cure -- Histiocytosis Association of America

A great video about the search for a cure and the experiences of families and patients battling against histiocytic disorders.

As another histio parent wrote in his blog, "the opening line 'I think it's very difficult to be the parent of a child with a life threatening illness' just might win the understatement of the year award."

Histiocytosis affects 1 in 200,000 children born each year in the United States. Because this illness is so rare, there is little research into its cause and treatment. It is often referred to as an "orphan disease," striking too few people to generate government-supported research.
